Pirate Treasure
Pirate Treasure is a new program being offered by PTO for all schools in the Pleasant Hope School District. The program was designed as a way to help students learn about volunteerism and contribution to their school and community. The program will begin on October 1, 2012 and continue through April 15, 2013. Classes will earn Pirate Points throughout the year in a number of ways. The Class with the most Pirate Points at the end of the year will be awarded a $250 grant, or "treasure", that they may use to donate an item of their choice back to the school. Legacy classes (4th and 8th grade) may use the grant to purchase an item that may be carried over to their new school or to fund end of year field trips. Juniors and seniors have the option of donating an item to the school of their choice or juniors may use the grant to assist with the cost of Prom and seniors may apply the grant to help pay for Project Graduation.
Points may be earned as follows:
For Parents:
PTO Membership
PTO Meeting Attendance
Volunteer Hours for PTO related events
For Students:
Honor Roll Recognition
Special Recognition for Achievements in Academics or Citizenship
Carnival King/Queen
Hosting Carnival Student Organization Booths
For Faculty:

And Peer Nomination for Educator of the Year (one award per school building)

Never doubt that a small, group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.
